Meet The Former UFC Fighter Who Went On To Become A Notorious Contract Killer

40 year-old Amar Suloev is a former Pride FC and UFC fighter. At UFC 35 he fought Chuck Liddell. He fought professionally in mixed martial arts between the years 1999 and 2008. He’s also a deadly contract killer.

Suloev has been retired now for eight years. Since those heady days of eight fight winning streaks and fighting on worldwide television, things have taken a dark turn for the Russian.

He joined a private security firm back in his Mother Russia. Where he would meet a man called Sergei Zirinov, an underworld figure who would lead the ex-martial artist on a journey into murder and – eventually – jail.

A gang was formed and a hit was ordered on the director of the Malaya Bukhta sanatorium, Vitaly Sadovnichy as well his wife Olga Ivankina. Plus businessman Salman Nabiyev. Suloev is believed to have been partly responsible. His trial is still ongoing.

He remains in jail, despite suffering from an aggressive form of cancer. He told this to the judge at his last appearance in court:

“Your Honor, I am worse and worse. It’s a vicious circle. I could not participate in the process. From my judgment, I am returned to prison where nobody cares about my condition, and no one involved in my treatment. I’m not trying to make you pity. I can make anything you want.”

“But what I want here? I really do not understand what is happening. I do not listen. I feel dizzy. Noise in the ears. Weight loss continues. I ask you to treat with understanding and adjourn.”

Will he die in jail? Or be acquitted due to health reasons…? He’ll have to wait to find out.

Here’s the man in happier days:
