While Pounding His Opponent This Boxer Pleads To Ref: “Stop The F*cking Fight!”

A heavyweight fight in New Zealand saw an unusual sight recently as the dominant boxer seemed to grow tired of beating on his opponent and instead grew concerned, urging the referee to stop the fight. The bout was one sided from the get-go, with Willis Meehan clearly dominating Leamy Tato. Yet it took a good few rounds for the ref to step in.

At one point, Meehan stopped his reign of punches to shout at the ref, ‘stop the f*cking fight!’

20 year-old ex rugby league player Meehan told waiting journalists this after the fight:

“I think when the ref sees it’s an obvious outclassing he should step in earlier. But it’s the hurt business we are in. I got the job done and he’s safe, he’s on his two feet at the end of the night.”
