Niagra Falls. A huge waterfall that really is iconic. One of the most popular tourist attractions in the world, it’s a amazing thing to behold. Huge endless gushes and torrents of water flow without fail. But back in 1969? It ran dry…

Don’t worry, it wasn’t a drought or an act of God. Engineers intentionally restricted water flow and allowed it to trickle dry. Over three days in June ’69, the US Army Corps of Engineers¬†drained the waterfall and investigate the¬†geological composition of the falls.

The long history of the place being a suicide hotspot worried many. It would be corpses galore, surely? How many did they find down there?
