Former Oklahoma City police officer Daniel Holtzclaw was found guilty of a truly sickening rampage of terror and sexual violence on Thursday evening. The jury decided he was guilty of five counts of rape and thirteen of serious sexual assault against vulnerable black women in the city he worked in. He now faces his entire life in prison and is due to be sentenced January 21st 2016. The sentence could be anywhere up to 236 years…
The disgraced ex-cop targeted women of color who – he believed – were less likely to have their stories taken seriously. He preyed on alcoholic women, drug addicts and sex workers. But, after the case was carefully put together, Holtzclaw is now facing the rest of his days behind bars.
As he was the sentenced, he broke down and wept. But the snivelling and sniffing evoked no sympathy from the jury or spectators as they celebrated the monster’s guilty verdict.
No one likes rapists (just ask the guy who cut off and ate the penis of his wife’s rapist). People in prison don’t like rapists. Or cops. So we don’t think that Daniel Hortzclaw is going to enjoy the next 263 years…
