According to reports coming out of Moscow, a Russian Special Forces soldier has died in Syria after intentionally calling an airstrike on HIMSELF. The selfless hero was in Palmyra – an ISIS hotspot – to carry out a special mission to attempt to direct Russian airstrikes at Daesh/ISIS targets. But he was compromised after he was seen by the terror group and surrounded. But instead of dying cornered, he called in the bombs…
Up until now, Russia have kept pretty quiet about their boots on the ground, instead claiming to just be involved in aerial attacks. But on this occasion they have decided to honor their man.
Talk about courage. What a man.
An an unnamed Russian representative said this about the incident:
“The officer was carrying out a combat task in Palmyra area for a week, identifying crucial IS targets and passing exact coordinates for strikes with Russian planes.”
“He died as a hero, he drew fire onto himself after being located and surrounded by terrorists.”
