Getting shot. It’s not something you really want to do, really. There are lots of better things to do this weekend. But while we all know that it’s not much fun, do we know what actually happens when a bullet is fired from a gun and enters your humanly flesh? It goes in and out, right? Well, yeah. But there’s more to it than that. And it’s actually pretty damn shocking. Not to mention disgusting.
To see what really happens, the science types over at Brit Labs set up an experiment with a pig carcass (the closest animal to humans, meat-wise) and a special ballistic jelly used by researchers to mimic human flesh. Special slow motion cameras capture it all and it’s pretty illuminating.
