Watch The Crazy Moment a Star Surfer Was Attacked By a SHARK!

Popular Australian surfing champion Mick Fanning was competing in the ‘JBay Open’ surfing final in South Africa at the weekend when the most shocking thing happened to him… He was attacked by a Great White Shark! It’s every surfer’s worst nightmare (apart from their shorts coming off and then getting attacked by a Great White Shark while they’re naked, of course…).

As it was a big event in the professional surfing calendar, the incident was filmed by television cameras. So we can bring you a clip that’s pretty darn good quality. It’s okay to watch, though – Mick was fine afterwards. He, miraculously, got out of the water unharmed but the shark chewed through his surfboard’s leg rope.

Speaking to Australian press after the shocking incident, Fanning said of the incident: “It came up and got stuck in my leg rope. I instantly just jumped away. It kept coming at my board and I was kicking and screaming. I just saw fins. I didn’t see teeth. I was waiting for the teeth to come at me. I punched it in the back.”

Don’t worry, Mick was fine afterwards. We promise. And to prove it, here’s an interview he gave about the shocking shark attack…
