The epic new helicopter you’re about to see is called the Piasecki X-49 and is a twin-engined and four-bladed experimental compound helicopter which is currently under development by the Piasecki Aircraft company. The X-49A is based on one of the world’s most famous and best-loved choppers, the Sikorsky YSH-60F Seahawk.
We thought the sweet remote control helicopter we showed you recently was cool. But, obviously, it’s nothing compared to this absolute beast of a thing!
It might look a little strange (we can’t help thinking they look a bit like giant flying leaf blowers…), but it’s manufacturers guarantee that it’ll help military personnel get in and out of war zones so much faster and safer than they currently do.
