It’s a soap opera which seems to have played out almost entirely on social media – UFC‘s star man Conor McGregor‘s ‘will he? Won’t he?’ appearance at UFC 200. The Irish fighter was due to have a rematch with Nate Diaz, but recently announced a shock retirement from MMA. It later transpired that his decision was based on UFC bigwig Dana White’s decision to pull him from the event after he failed to show for his media duties.
Now McGregor claims to have unretired and will now be back to face Diaz on July 9th. He announced it on Twitter.
Here’s what he said:
Happy to announce that I am BACK on UFC 200!
Shout out to @danawhite and @lorenzofertitta on getting this one done for the fans. #Respect

It comes after Nate said he ‘ain’t doing sh*t’ without McGregor at UFC 200.
It looks like UFC boss Dana White had to climb down from his original stance after seeing just how unpopular his decision to bar McGregor was…
