MMA Winner Taps Out During Fight Demonstrating Incredible Sportsmanship

The world of sports is a big deal. It always has been, but nowadays? It’s worth so much money that it’s a juggernaut now. Sportsmanship and fair play and friendliness and all that? It has to take a bit of a back seat. But in the amateur game? Where there is no money? There’s plenty of room for all that. And we’ve got the proof.

Amateur MMA fighter Mike Pantangco was, to put it politely, winning a fight recently quite comfortably. To put it slightly less politely – he was beating the cr*p out of his opponent. But instead of punching and kicking the man unconscious and picking up the win, he tapped out and gave him the victory…

Pantangco explained his decision like this: “I just feel that there’s no point fighting him because he didn’t train against me and I didn’t train for him and I just feel like we’re amateur fighters. We don’t get money, we don’t get paid, and I know that the only thing I’m going to finish the fight is him to go in the hospital or get hurt. I just feel terrible so I’m just going to give him the win.”
