Yonkers, New York City. Legendary rapper DMX, real name Earl Simmons, is in hospital after a near brush with death saw him having to be resuscitated by NYPD cops. It’s thought that he suffered a major asthma attack after collapsing outside the Ramada Inn hotel he was supposedly staying at. Luckily for him, a police officer saw the incident and responded.
“This was an excellent job by the officers and they definitely saved the life. They found him in a lifeless condition with no breathing. They were able to bring back some breathing,” an officer on the scene said.
DMX was rushed to hospital, where he stabilized and is said to be doing well. According to one eyewitness, he was heard asking for his inhaler and was visibly struggling to breath and gasping for air.
