An impressive takedown of a machete-wielding maniac occurred over Christmas in a Toronto shopping mall after a man attacked a shopper with the huge blade. CCTV caught the awesome takedown by the two unarmed security guards.
“Once I went through the second set of doors to the exterior area, he was still doing what he was doing with the machete. I just wanted to stop what he was doing,” 6’4″, 270lbs Nate McNeil told a news conference Thursday afternoon.
It was McNeil that tackled the assailant, but his considerably smaller colleague Phil Bonaparte played just as useful a part in the takedown. At just 5’5″ and 140lbs, he may look small, but he sprang into action and disarmed Arlington Thompson of Queens, N.Y., cuffing him in the process.
