Conor McGregor Says He’s Up For Boxing Match Against Floyd Mayweather

Back in Roman times, the number one entertainment was gladiator fights. Seeing two warriors go toe-to-toe and fight to the death was the ultimate viewing spectacle. And to be fair, not that much has changed. But often in a fight, there’s a favorite. So the idea of two true greats against each other is hugely appealing. And so we come to the idea of Conor McGregor and Floyd Mayweather fighting.

The Irishman was asked by a reporter recently if he’d entertain the idea of fighting Mayweather in a boxing match…

Here’s what McGregor said about the idea: “I’m open to discussions, come at me. But I hold the key and it’s me who holds the key to the fight game. I am open minded, I am open to discussion, I love competition, I love fighting. It would be nice to make that fight if the fans were interested and wanted to see it.”

The interviewer called it ‘billion dollar fight’ to which McGregor said, “I’m all about those numbers, so I would definitely do that, no problem.”

What would happen, though? Well, in a boxing match? Sorry, Notorious fans… But he’d get destroyed. In an MMA match-up? Money would get ended. So it’s not really all that realistic…

Shame.
