50 Cent Donates $100k To Autism Charity Following Public Outrage

In a dramatic attempt to save face, 50 Cent has announced he’s donating $100,000 dollars to the autism charity Autsim Speaks after recently becoming the subject of an almighty Twitterstorm following the troubled rapper’s mocking of an autistic 19-year-old on social media. As you’ll no doubt remember, Fiddy mistook airport worker Andrew Farrell for being ‘high as a motherf*ker’, filming him and posting the video online. Farrell was, of course, nothing of the kind, and his family quickly announced they planned to sue.

In an attempt to make amends, Fiddy has announced he is making a donation to an autism charity – a $100k donation to be precise. “I want to turn this misunderstanding into an understanding,” the rapper said. “There are people that are ignored, mistreated and neglected with disabilities that need our support.”

“I am calling on my fellow musicians, actors, entertainers and all others who may not have fully considered this cause to join together to help in any way they can,” he added.

We’re not surprised at this move, as Fiddy has come under considerable fire since calling Farrell out on social media. But will his generous donation be enough to fan the flames?

50 Cent

And hey, doesn’t 50 Cent have cash-flow problems at the moment? Funny how he can still splash the cash to salve his conscience and repair his damaged reputation when he needs to, eh?

You can watch the original video of 50 Cent mocking Farrell here. Has he done enough to limit the damage? Only time will tell.
